The Aegean Neorion Innovation Center is the result of the partnership between the Region of the South Aegean, ONEX SHIPYARDS Group & Technologies, CISCO and the University of the Aegean. The purpose of the “Aegean Neorion Innovation Center” is the research, design and implementation of new innovative solutions for the needs of local societies, the contribution to the digital transformation of the businesses of the islands, the operation of “incubators” for start-up businesses, the upgrading of the human resources of the local government while providing internships and facilitating research work for students. Through combined and mutually complementary actions, multiplying results are expected towards the direction of a sustainable ‘knowledge’ economy for the entire South Aegean Region.
